WWII Hitler GERMAN ARMY ARTILLERY OFFICER VISOR CAP
WWII German Army Artillery Officer Visor Cap-This cap is produced in a very soft, smooth field grey wool that is excellent. The piping is brilliant red for artillery personnel. It is mostly intact with a nip or two only. The cap has a very nice saddle form to it. The center band is dark green badge cloth. There is minor wear only. There are holes where a different set of insignia once resided in the center band. The wreath and cockade may be a replacement but they match well and are of course originals. Same for the eagle, an original but a replacement. The officers double chin cord is in fine condition and held in place by a pair of silver finished pebbled metal buttons. The vulkanfibre visor is a bit faded but otherwise in fine condition. The underside is crosshatched and finished in an orange brown hue. This is a summer style visor with unlined sides. The top panel is lined in orange brown ribbed rayon. The moisture shield is rhomboid shaped and missing a small section. The sweatband is orange brown leather with the embossed “Deutsches Leder” logo. It is excellent, remaining soft and supple. The underside is stamped with the size
