The duties and responsibilities encompass the following tasks:
Prescription Interpretation: Analyzing prescriptions provided by optometrists or ophthalmologists to accurately determine the type and specifications of lenses required.
Eyewear Selection: Assisting patients in choosing eyeglass frames and lenses based on their preferences, facial features, and prescription needs.
Frame Fitting: Ensuring frames are properly adjusted to the patient's face for comfort, aesthetics, and optimal vision correction.
Lens Fabrication: Coordinating with laboratory technicians to create and customize lenses according to prescription and patient specifications.
Contact Lens Services: Educating patients on proper contact lens usage, handling, and care. Assisting with fitting and providing guidance on different types of contact lenses.
Measurements and Assessments: Taking accurate measurements of pupillary distance, frame dimensions, and other essential parameters to ensure precise lens fitting.
Repairs and Adjustments: Offering repair services for damaged eyeglasses and making necessary adjustments to ensure optimal fit and comfort.
Patient Education: Providing comprehensive information about different lens options, lens treatments, and coatings, as well as educating patients about eye health and proper eyewear care.
Sales and Customer Service: Effectively communicating with patients, addressing their inquiries, and guiding them through the eyewear selection process. Upselling and cross-selling relevant products and services.
Inventory Management: Monitoring and maintaining inventory of frames, lenses, and other eyewear-related products. Ordering new stock as needed.
Maintaining Records: Keeping accurate and organized records of patient prescriptions, purchases, and interactions for future reference.
Compliance and Regulations: Adhering to industry regulations and standards, including hygiene and sanitation practices, to ensure patient safety and satisfaction.
Team Collaboration: Collaborating with optometrists, ophthalmologists, and other staff members to provide a seamless and comprehensive patient experience.
