ANTIQUE ARMENIAN LORI CARPET DATED WITH INSCRIPTIONS
This antique Armenian carpet is hand knotted in Armenia's LORI province, using 100% vegetable-dyed wool. The carpet is a one-of-a-kind piece. It is well preserved and dates back to 1934 as inscribed on the carpet. The date is accompanied with the following Armenian letters (Թ. Տ. Ա. ). The carpet was taken from the dowry of Dikranouhi Atamyan, a native dweller of LORI province. LORI is the third largest province in Armenia and has population of 400,000 who are 99% all Armenian.
• Carpet inscriptions: the carpet has the following inscriptions (Թ. Տ. Ա. ); “Թ” stands for Թուական (date) as the carpet carries the date 1934 and “Տ. Ա. ” stands for Տիգրանուհի Ադամյան (Dikranouhi Atamyan).

• Design Style: the carpet contains in the middle numerous boteh motifs with 3 colorful borders that employ various designs such cross shapes, human figures, and geometric bird and animal figures;
